Transport ministry says 1.6 tln rbl Sochi-Dzhubga road too costly

MOSCOW, Aug 1 (PRIME) -- Extension of the Dzhubga–Sochi road capacity will cost a staggering 1.6 trillion rubles and is technically complicated, the Transport Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The Transport Ministry and the Federal Road Agency have considered layouts of rebuilding of the Dzhubga–Sochi (A-147) highway. Preliminary technical and financial estimates show that the project is extremely capital intensive. The fulfillment will cost at least 1.6 trillion rubles,” the Transport Ministry said.

Business daily Vedomosti reported that the government had launched a 6.1 billion ruble regional highway reconstruction program and the Dzhubga–Sochi road is seen interesting by companies of Arkady Rotenberg and Yury Reilyan.
